KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

Scientific: Knowledge of the physical environment in the Barents Sea mainly achieved through the Dr.ing. dissertation and 13 years (1986-98) in research with emphasis on:

These items involve erudition on ice physics and dynamics, structural engineering, statistical analysis as well as application of remote sensing techniques.

Knowledge of spreading, drift and behaviour of oil in broken ice.

Three years (1983-85) in research on design and planning of arctic marine operations with major efforts on winterization of rigs and marine icing countermeasures.

Applied physics (with emphasis on dynamics, thermodynamics and numerical modelling) has been the key discipline in most of my practice. An exciting and demanding addition to my research in 1993/94 was the design and preparation of the speed skating ice at the Vikingship ice rink. The many world records, personal records and favourable comments from the athletes proved that my contribution was of great value to the Olympic Games.
